COOLCHEM-100
COOLING TOWER DISPERSANT AND
ON-LINE DESCALER |
WHEN USED AS AN ON-LINE DESCALER: COOLCHEM-100 is specially formulated to prevent the deposition of solids on heat transfer surfaces. When used as an on-line descaler, it removes scale while the system is on line. The removal of scale will keep heat transfer surfaces clean and reduce energy costs. |
Slowly breaks up and dissolves scale |
Prevents scale formation |
Eliminates having to handle acid-based descaling products. |
Reduces downtime |
Concentrated for economy |
NOTE: COOLCHEM-100 must be maintained in the cooling tower at all times to ensure that a sufficient level of treatment is present to dissolve the existing scale. |
COOLCHEM-100 is not effective on silica scale. Scale thicker than 1/4 inch should be decaled with an acid type product. COOLCHEM-100works with the system over a period of months by sequestering deposits and scale. On-line descaling may take six months or longer for scale removal. |
PRODUCT DOSAGE: For on-line descaling, add 1 gallon of COOLCHEM-100 per 2,000 gallons cooling tower capacity. Maintain dosage based on bleed off. Product dosage may vary up to 1 gallon per 700 gallons of bleed off. |
WHEN USED AS A DISPERSANT: COOLCHEM-100 is a liquid blend of sodium polymer. It is effective in all cooling towers, especially systems that collect silt and airborne debris. The high-molecular-weight polymer lifts and suspends mud, silt and iron oxide and allows their removal through normal bleed off. |
Disperses silt in water for removal through bleed off |
Formulated with an iron dispersant to help remove rust |
Cleans any wet area in cooling towers, cooling tower fill or condenser tubes |
Eliminates friction on flow surfaces, allowing pumps to work more efficiently. |
Helps keep pump suction strainers clean. |
Prevents tube plugging and overheated condensers. |
Clears out closed-water loops. Removes the rust and mill scale that can be carried along with the water and act like an abrasive to pump seals, valves and pipe elbows. |
PRODUCT DOSAGE: When used as a cooling tower dispersant, add 1 gallon of COOLCHEM-100 for each 6,000 gallons of water in the system. Add 1 gallon for each 6,000 to 12,000 gallons of water lost to bleed off. |
METHOD OF FEED: Feed COOLCHEM-100 directly into the cooling tower sump or into the return line to the tower. |
SYSTEM OPERATING PARAMETERS: Follow the same parameters as outlined for phosphonate treatment programs. |
PRODUCT CONTROL PARAMETERS: Treatment residuals for COOLCHEM-100 cannot be tested conveniently. Feed this product in proportion the phosphonate treatment and use phosphonate residual as the control parameter. |
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES:
Appearance: Colorless liquid
Product pH: 11.5
Specific Gravity (73 F): 1.06

BD -120 (BIO DISPERSENT) |
BENEFITS: |
Easy to feed; completely water soluble |
Economical, effective at low dosages for maintenance. |
When used in combination with a biocide, BIO DISPERSENT will aid in the penetration and dispersion of the biomass. |
Low foaming |
DESCRIPTION: BIO DISPERSENT is a surfactant and penetrates for
dispersing microbiological slimes and oil-type deposits in cooling tower
systems. |
Slimes and oil-type deposits impede water flow, restrict heat transfer and cause metal components to corrode. |
BIO DISPERSENT breaks up the entire slime mass. It reacts with the biomass by breaking its slime coating into thousands of tiny pieces. This destroys its natural defense mechanism and leaves the slime defenseless. |
Biocides are now able to attack the entire biomass and kill the dispersed microbiological agents. Following the application of the biocide, the surface is free of bacteria. |
APPLICATION: For initial treatment or severely contaminated systems, add 1 gallon of BIO DISPERSENT for each 5,000 gallons of water. A dosage of 1 gallon of BIO DISPERSENT for each 50,000 gallons of water should be maintained in order to provide adequate protection. |

ABS – 100S
ANTISCALANT FOR SUGAR MILLS |
pRODUCT DESCRIPTION ABS- 100S is an antiscalant specifically designed for the control of scale formation in sugarcane juice evaporators. |
ABS – 100S can be directly added to the clarified juice before it enters the evaporators. |
SPECIFICATION Appearance : Clear colours to yellow liquid
pH (as : 4.0 to 7.0
Wt. /ml : 1.0 – 1.2 |
APPLICATION |
ABS – 100S exhibits excellent control of scaling due to calcium carbonates, calcium sulphate, calcium phosphate, calcium oxalate and silica which are normally encountered in juice evaporators. Substoichiometirc concentrations of ABS – 100S prevents the precipitation of scale forming salts by its threshold inhibition property. |
ABS – 100S is a powerful sequestrate of cations. It forms water soluble complexes with scale forming ions like calcium, magnesium, etc. |
ABS – 100S effective controls the depositions of suspended matter like dirt, dust, etc. By its strong dispersing ability. ABS- 100S is hydrolytically very stable over a wide rang of pH and temperature |
The scales, if any, formed with the use of ABS – 100S are amorphous in nature due to distortion of their crystal structure and can be easily removed. ABS 100S does not interfere with the sugar crystallization process. |
ADVANTAGES |
- Excellent control of scale formation due to calcium carbonate, calcium sulphate, calcium phosphate, calcium oxalate and silica
- Frequent cleaning of the evaporators can be averted to a great extent thus minimizing the downtime of the plant and optimizing production capacity
- Time between general cleanings is increased thereby saving in the labour and chemical cost of cleaning since cleaning frequency can be considerably reduced.
- Uniform heat transfer co-efficient can be maintained since scaling and deposition is controlled to minimum. This will naturally reduce steam consumption and in turn the fuel consumption. Maximum through put and uniform brix can be maintained.
- Maceration can be maintained and in some cases, increased..
- Life of the evaporators is increased as the frequency of cleaning is reduced.
- Due to the crystal distortion property of ABS-100S , any scales that are formed are soft and friable and easy to clean.
- ABS-100S has excellent thermal and hydrolytic stability.
- ABS-100S does not interfere with the crystallization of sugar.
- ABS-100S is non-toxic at the use level concentration.
DOSAGE: |
ABS-100S should be dosed at a concentration at 10 – 20 ppm on the basis of clarified juice. |
FEEDINGS |
ABS-100S should be diluted to 5 – 100 times with water and mixed with the clarified juice at a point just before its entry into the evaporators. In most cases, split feeding has been found to be more effective. |
PACKING |
ABS-100S is available in 50 liters HEDP carbouys. |
HANDLING |
ABS 100S in concentrated form is irritating to skin. Avoid contact with eyes and skin . Wash with plenty of water in case of contract. Do not take internally. |
